Terms and conditions
Last updated: October 22, 2026
These Terms and conditions (the "Agreement") govern access to the registrodigital.com.ec website and the purchase and use of Registro Digital services. By creating an account, placing an order or using any of our services, you confirm that you have read and accepted this Agreement, our Privacy policy and our Personal data protection policy. If you do not agree, do not use the services.
1. Parties to the agreement
Registro Digital is a brand and product of ACCROACHCODE LLC, a company organized in the United States, which is the contracting party for the services. ACCROACHCODE S.A., an Ecuadorian company with RUC (tax ID) 0992879955001, issues electronic invoices in Ecuador and acts as representative in Ecuador for the purposes of the Organic Law on Personal Data Protection (LOPDP).
In this Agreement, "Registro Digital", "we", "us" or "our" refers jointly to both companies, each within its role; "you" or "the customer" refers to the natural person or legal entity that purchases the services.
2. Definitions
- Services: all products offered by Registro Digital, including domain registration, renewal and transfer, cloud and VPS hosting, business email, SSL certificates and add-on services.
- Account: the customer's personal access to the website and dashboard, from which the customer manages its services.
- Registry: the entity that administers a domain extension, for example NIC.EC for .ec domains.
- Registrar: the entity accredited by a registry or by ICANN through which a domain is registered.
- Domain holder: the person or entity listed as the registrant of the domain.
- Content: the websites, files, databases, emails and any information that the customer or its users host or transmit through the services.
3. Account and customer information
To purchase services you must be of legal age and have legal capacity to enter into binding agreements, or act on behalf of a company with sufficient authority. You agree to provide truthful, complete and up-to-date information and to keep it so for the entire term of the services.
You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity carried out from your account. You must notify us immediately at [email protected] of any unauthorized use. We may request documents proving your identity or ownership of a domain before carrying out sensitive changes.
4. Domain registration and transfer
Domain registration is subject to availability and to the policies of the registry for each extension, including those of NIC.EC for .ec domains and those of ICANN for generic domains. Registro Digital processes requests through the corresponding accredited registries and registrars and does not guarantee a registration until it is confirmed by the relevant authority.
- The domain is registered in the name of the holder indicated by the customer, who represents that its use does not infringe third-party rights such as trademarks or trade names.
- The holder must keep its contact information accurate. If a registry or ICANN requires that information to be verified and the verification is not completed within the stated time, the domain may be suspended.
- Domain disputes are resolved under the applicable policies, such as ICANN's Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP) or NIC.EC policies. Registro Digital will comply with the resulting decisions.
- Incoming and outgoing transfers require the authorization code and that the domain is not locked. After a registration or transfer there may be a period during which the domain cannot be transferred, according to ICANN or registry policies.
5. Renewal and expiration
Services are purchased for the chosen term and must be renewed before they expire. We send reminders to the account email before the expiration date; not receiving them does not release the customer from its responsibility to renew on time.
When auto-renewal is enabled, the service will be renewed at the end of each term using the payment method on file and at the price in effect at that time. You can disable it from your account or by writing to support before expiration.
Expired domains. If a domain is not renewed before its expiration date, the registry may suspend it (the associated website and email stop working) and the domain goes through the following stages:
- Up to 12 days after expiration: it can be renewed at the regular renewal price.
- From day 13 and while the registry allows it (redemption period): recovery requires paying a one-year renewal plus a restoration fee of USD 50 plus taxes, or the registry's cost if higher.
- After the redemption period: the domain may be deleted, auctioned or released, and anyone may register it. From then on Registro Digital cannot recover it.
The timeframes and costs of each stage depend on the policies of each extension's registry (for example, NIC.EC for .ec domains) and may change without notice. Registro Digital does not guarantee that an expired domain can be restored. The restoration fee is non-refundable and its current amount is the one published in these terms.
Expired hosting services are suspended without any surcharge. Once the renewal payment is registered they are reactivated automatically, provided the space and its data are still retained.
6. Hosting, email and SSL certificates
Hosting, business email and SSL certificate plans include the resources and features described on the website at the time of purchase. Resources must be used reasonably and in line with the purpose of the plan; if usage affects the stability or security of the platform or of other customers, we may limit it and will offer you a suitable plan.
SSL certificate issuance depends on the validation performed by the certificate authority; organization-validated or extended-validation certificates may require additional company documentation. Activation of some services may require manual steps and is not immediate.
7. Acceptable use
The services must be used for lawful purposes. Using them for the following is prohibited:
- Distributing illegal, defamatory or obscene content, or content that violates third-party rights, including intellectual property.
- Sending unsolicited email (spam) or engaging in phishing or impersonation.
- Storing or distributing malware, viruses or malicious software.
- Carrying out cyberattacks, unauthorized cryptocurrency mining or activities that affect server performance.
- Violating applicable local, national or international laws.
The customer is responsible for the content hosted or transmitted through its services and for the use made by its own users. We may remove content or suspend services when ordered by a competent authority or when there is reasonable evidence of prohibited use.
8. Prices, payments and invoicing
Prices are stated in United States dollars (USD) and are charged in advance for the contracted term, plus applicable taxes. Card payments are processed through authorized payment processors, for example Stripe; Registro Digital does not store your full card details.
Electronic invoices for customers in Ecuador are issued by ACCROACHCODE S.A. using the billing details registered in the account, so the customer must keep them correct. Prices may change; a change does not affect a term already paid and applies from the next renewal.
Online payments without withholdings. Online payments (credit or debit card) do not accept withholding certificates and no withholding may be deducted from the amount due. Under articles 122 and 151 of the Regulations to Ecuador's Internal Tax Regime Law, card payments are not subject to withholding by the buyer; the card issuer applies the withholding.
Customers who request an electronic invoice pay the current VAT on every item of the order: registrations, renewals, transfers, hosting, add-on services and restoration fees.
9. Refund policy
New hosting, business email and SSL certificate services carry a 30-day satisfaction guarantee from activation. Within that period you may request a refund by writing to [email protected]; the amount is returned through the same payment method used.
The following are non-refundable:
- Domain registrations, because they involve non-recoverable costs with the registries.
- Renewals of any service.
- Domain transfers.
- Third-party services.
10. Chargebacks and disputes
Chargebacks and disputes. Before disputing a charge with your bank, please contact [email protected]; we resolve any billing error. Domains, renewals and activated services are delivered at the time of payment and are non-refundable. If you dispute a charge for a delivered service, we will provide your bank with the purchase evidence (IP address, acceptance of these terms, service delivery and invoice) and may suspend the related services while the dispute is open. If the dispute is resolved in our favor or withdrawn, the debt remains due.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or cancel a service for non-payment, for breach of this Agreement or of the acceptable use policy, by order of a competent authority or when the service poses a risk to the security of the platform. Where reasonable, we will notify you before suspending.
Services suspended for more than 30 days may be permanently cancelled, and their associated data may be deleted with no possibility of recovery. You may cancel your services at any time; cancellation does not give rise to refunds beyond those set out in the refund policy.
12. Backups
Although Registro Digital may back up its infrastructure, the customer is solely responsible for keeping up-to-date backups of its websites, files, databases and email. We are not liable for data loss caused by technical failures, human error, cyberattacks or any other circumstance.
Before cancelling a service or letting it expire, download any information you wish to keep.
13. Availability and maintenance
We work to keep the services available, but we do not guarantee that they will operate uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out scheduled maintenance, which will be announced in advance whenever possible, and urgent maintenance when security or stability requires it.
We are not liable for interruptions attributable to registries, certificate authorities, connectivity providers or other third parties, or for force majeure events.
14. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Registro Digital shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data loss, arising from the use of, or inability to use, the services. Our maximum liability is limited to the amount paid by the customer during the last 12 months for the affected service.
Nothing in this Agreement limits the rights granted to consumers by Ecuador's Organic Consumer Protection Law or other mandatory rules.
15. Indemnification
The customer shall indemnify and hold harmless ACCROACHCODE LLC, ACCROACHCODE S.A. and their staff against claims, penalties, damages and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from its content, the use of its domains, breach of this Agreement, or infringement of third-party rights or the law.
16. Intellectual property
The content, logos, trademarks and materials on the Registro Digital website are the property of ACCROACHCODE LLC or their respective owners. Their reproduction, distribution or use without express written authorization is prohibited.
The customer retains all rights to the content it publishes on our servers and grants us only the permissions needed to host it, copy it for backup purposes and transmit it when providing the services.
17. Cookie policy
We use necessary cookies to make the site work and, only if you agree, analytics and marketing cookies. The list of cookies, their purpose and duration, and how to change your choice at any time are in our Cookie policy.
18. Changes to this agreement
We may amend this Agreement to reflect changes in the services, in registry policies or in the law. The current version is published on this page with its update date and, if the change is material, we will notify it to the account email. Use of the services after publication constitutes acceptance of the new version.
19. Governing law and jurisdiction
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Republic of Ecuador. Any dispute shall be submitted to the competent courts of the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador, without prejudice to the non-waivable rights granted by law to consumers and to the domain dispute resolution procedures established by ICANN or by each registry.
