What's the difference between free SSL and a paid one?
The encryption is the same. A paid certificate gives you other options: Wildcard, multiple domains, one-year validity with managed installation and, for OV/EV, validation of your company.
What is a Wildcard certificate?
A certificate that protects your domain and all its first-level subdomains, for example shop.yourdomain.com and app.yourdomain.com.
Do I need OV or EV?
If you handle payments or sensitive data, or you are a regulated entity, an OV or EV certificate builds trust by showing your organization's verified identity.
How long does a certificate last?
Free certificates last 90 days and renew automatically. The industry is gradually shortening the maximum validity of commercial certificates; we support you through every renewal.
